How to Download Instagram Videos Tutorial

First we had demand to download Vine Videos, now we have demand to download Instagram videos. So, how do you download a video from Instagram on your computer? Actually, it’s quite simple!

The process of downloading a video from Instagram depends slightly on your browser. Below, I go through how to download an Instagram video in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari without using any extensions.

The first step, regardless of browser, is to navigate to the video page. If you are on your Instagram timeline, click on the “More Options” button (three dots) and select “View Video Page”.

Google Chrome

  1. Right click on video and select “Inspect Element”.
  2. Find the .mp4 video link and click on it.
  3. In the window that opens up after clicking the link, right click on the video and click “Save Video As…”.
  4. Name your video and you’re done!!

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Right click on video and select “Inspect Element”.
  2. Find the .mp4 video link and copy it (CTRL+C) and paste it (CTRL+V) into a new tab.
  3. In the window that opens up, right click on the video and click “Save Video As…”.
    Name your video and you’re done!!

Internet Explorer

  1. Right click on video and select “View Source”.
  2. Find the .mp4 video link and copy it.
  3. Open Goo.gl (or any other site where you can paste the site link). In Goo.gl, paste the URL into the shortener. Right click on the ORIGINAL link (should be in the color green) and click on “Save Target As..”.
  4. Name your video and you’re done!!

Safari

  1. Right click OUTSIDE of video and select “View Source”.
  2. Find the .mp4 video link and copy it.
  3. Open Goo.gl (or any other site where you can paste the site link). In Goo.gl, paste the URL into the shortener. Right click on the ORIGINAL link (should be in the color green) and click on “Download Linked File As..”.
  4. Name your video and you’re done!!

Downloading a Vine Video from your computer is very simple and if you don’t know how, here’s how you can do it in a matter of seconds!

Using  the Google Chrome Browser

  1. Open the Vine video in Google Chrome. (You can usually find the vine.co link from the users Twitter feed.)
  2. Right click on the Vine video and click : Save Video As.. .
  3. Give the video a name and click save! THAT’S IT!

 

Using the Safari Web Browser

  1. Open Vine video in Safari. (You can usually find the vine.co link from the users Twitter feed.)
  2. Right click on the page and click “View Source“.
  3. Use Command+F to open a search box in the Source window. Search for “.mp4”.
  4. Copy the video source “src” link that should be in a similar format to https://v.cdn.vine.co/v/videos/1D84382E-A55C-4524-ABA7-69C3606D6437-3164-00000240023BED92_1.1.2.mp4?versionId=Bdkwnjed_n8YqMT9Nd9.7BypzlM5q5U0 .
  5. Open Goo.gl in a new tab. Paste the source .mp4 link into the URL shortener and click “Shorten URL”. When the following page loads, right click on the green ORIGINAL link (v.cdn.vine) and select “Save Video As..“.
  6. Name your video and that’s it!
